Addisalem Bizuwork
To Live is a series of paintings by Addisalem Bizuwork about the desires emerging from the uncertain aspects of life in Ethiopia. At once urban and rural, her canvases combine traditional local pictorial strategies with the language of billboards and graffiti in contemporary Addis Ababa. Bizuwork uses the Ethiopian calendar to sign her work, according to which the year of production is 1999.
