Exploring the crossover between fiction and documentary, Monica Rubio‘s films tell idiosyncratic stories about the ways in which ancient rituals can inform contemporary life. After receiving a degree in sociology and media in Bogota, Rubio moved to the UK in 1998 to study directing and editing at Sheffield Hallam University. Her film Chance won the main prize at the 2001 Oberhausen Short Film Festival.
