Hazem Alhamwi‘s experimental films gesture towards the people and landscape of Syria, while placing the main character’s point of view firmly behind the camera lens. In 2006 Alhamwi was part of the first group of filmmakers to receive a fellowship from the Arab Institute of Film in Amman, Jordan.
