Shapur Amini is a documentary filmmaker and founder of the Afghan Academy, a cultural and social organisation serving the Afghan community in London. In his creative practice Amini brings together the distant and the local by recording individual lives of Afghans in Britain. His practice extends to radio and television serving both Afghan audiences in the UK and a wider audience in Afghanistan.
